We left Virginia Beach and headed for C-ville where our good friends Shawn, Rachel, Owen, and Connor live. We enjoyed playing in their back yard bounce house, seeing their town, swimming, and having good time after the kids were asleep to talk and talk and talk as adults. It was great to see them again and to see a bit of their new home town. The kids got along so well though, it really made me wish they lived a bit closer...maybe someday...
After seeing Shawn and Rachel we stopped in Harrisonburg to see Jon's aunt and uncle and cousins. It was so fun to see them and their town too. Then we made the long 11 hour trip home all in one day. The kids did great. It was a real taste of things to come and it made us feel like we can now plan trips to even farther places. It really was a great trip...a great first foray into the world of longer distance traveling with kids (remember distance is always relative).
