Finally Fall

For those of you who know us well you know that we can not stand to be hot. We like many things about summer but the heat is not one of them. We'll wait until January to turn on our heat but the AC runs between 70 and 72 degrees almost all summer. We hate to be hot and don't understand why so many other people seem to not only tolerate it but enjoy it. Anyway, so, the fact that it was 87 degrees this past weekend, which was in the month of October you'll recall, did not please us at all. But we woke up today to find a wonderful cloudy crisp fall day. We are in heaven. We took the opportunity to break out Noah's coat and to bundle him up for our evening walk. He seemed to do just fine.

Here are Noah and Mandy in their jackets and Noah all bundled up for the first cold evening walk.

Here is Noah playing on a blanket that we have in our room for him. It seems like we now have little blankets with toys on them in every room of the house for when he wants to be on the floor playing. Then no matter what room we're in we can quickly plop him down for a minute or two and he's happy while we do whatever we need to do in that room.

Here is Noah with Grandma June in the church nursery. Mom came to watch Noah on Monday while our normal sitter Lori and family were on vacation. Today was my day off and Tuesday was my work-from-home day so Mom coming on Monday helped me not need to take a vacation day. Noah will be back with Lori, Caleb, Anna and Lucas tomorrow. They are so wonderful. Did I tell you that they got him a little tiny pumpkin as a present for Halloween? They are so sweet and loving. They almost always give him kisses goodbye each day when I leave with him and they seem to really enjoy having him around as part of their family for portions of 3 days a week. What a blessing it is for us to have our precious baby taken care of by 4 such wonderful and loving people.

I'm right there with you on the cooler weather! The best thing about this time of year is we aren't running the a/c or the heat! Did Noah complain about getting his coat on? I took the kids out yesterday and Mara cried as soon as I put her coat on and then cried about having it on in the car, etc. It'll take some getting used to for her. Happy fall!

Beth, Yes, Noah did not like getting his coat on all that much. I assume he'll get used to it but for now its not his favorite thing. Your new pix of Tyson and Mara in their fall gear are SO cute! ~M
