Pumpkinvine Ride 2012

We hadn't done the PV Ride in years b/c our kids were little and it sounded like more work than fun to take them on the trail, but this year was different. It sounded like fun, and it was. We did the 10 mile family ride (Anna in the bugger and Noah riding his own bike most of the way with a few rest times where we would put him in the bugger and strap his bike to the back of the bugger while continuing to ride). It was a great community event with fun pitstops along the way to taste honey and sasafrass tea and to talk with people from far and near who love the trail. I always joke that the Pumpkinvine is my brother because my dad has put as much time into making it a reality as he would have put into raising another child. Perhaps that is a slight exaggeration, but it's not a huge one. And it is on days like ride day that I just could not be more proud of all the hard work, persistence, patience, and energy that Dad has given to make such a lovely community treasure come to life.
We are ready to ride

so fun to be on Mommy's bike

Are they out standing in their field or what? Ha!!!

Victory!!!
