Noah's First 1st Birthday Party

Gma June and Gpa John came to Indy on the weekend of March 1-2 to help watch Noah during the MYF auction and to celebrate his b-day. [Because of scheduling issues we will be having several smaller parties for Noah's birthday rather than one big party with all of the grandparents and Uncle Matt and "aunties" and "uncles" all together]. He did great with them from the moment he woke from his nap (we were at church setting up for the auction) and then to top it all off they were even able to put him to bed that night by themselves. This really excites us b/c it's never happened before and it means that we will be able to go out on dates once we move and have them close by to babysit for us. Yeah!!! I think we've gone out just the two of us maybe 3 times since he's been born, and in case you're wondering, no that is not often enough.

Blah, blah, blah, but that's not what you're tuning in for. So here we go without further delay...Noah's first birthday party--take 1. We had brunch with Gma and Gpa, and we served up Noah's candle on a pancake--one of his favorite foods. He devoured it and we all had a lovely meal of fruit, coffee, juice, and a delicious breakfast casserole that Jon made.

Then we opened presents. Noah got some books, some toy cars, a box of animal crackers, a swimsuit, swim shirt and sun hat for our trip to Florida and some goldfish crackers. He was so funny because he didn't really want to open the goldfish. He just wanted to play with the bag.

And below are some pix from Noah's slew of fun times with Gma June and Gpa John from that weekend. They read stories, played catch, built tents/forts, and played blocks and cars. What fun!
